This is the oldest map from 1614 of the Wageningen harbour and the Rhine. The cartographer is Bernard Kempinck. The North is left. The map is 41 * 55 cm and made on paper.
The area in between the harbour and The Rhine is called the Essenveltswarth. Nowadays we call it de Driehoek (The Triangel).
The Triangle is still there but is now equilateral. There are plans to turn the green high-productive grass into a wetland bird paradise with a lake where you can swim.
